I usually take Abrams Rd. to go downtown the back way. Abrams turns into Columbia and then Canton as it winds its way through east Dallas. About halfway to town I always pass The Egg Roll Hut Chinese restaurant which has a very large Dairy Queen ice cream cone above the egg roll sign. I always thought it was amusing that the owners had to just tack the egg roll sign below the existing Dairy Queen sign. So finally one day I stopped and took some photos of the sign. I also walked around the neighborhood and shot a few other interesting signs…like the It’ll Do Club, which I have also used in my art:-) The Egg Roll Hut is still in business. I passed it again today, but the sign is hard to see now because palm trees in the parking lot have grown so tall that they are obscuring the sign. But if you look real hard, you can still see it.
