Update on Opening
We hear ya, Sunny! Our delays in opening have been largely due to red tape with the city. As we work towards being one of the first new tenants at the re-developed Lakeridge Village, we are at the mercy of many infrastructure initiatives that need to be completed and approved prior to us finishing out our space.
We are now down to just two things we need to be completed to open our doors.
- City of Dallas to approve the sprinkler system so we can patch our ceiling
- AT&T to install master lines throughout the center (currently scheduled for next week).
As a result, we are going to add a cushion of time to secure our Certificate of Occupancy, and plan on starting classes on Monday, April 29.
We will send out our April Newsletter confirming this date once we have this final step – the Certificate of Occupancy in hand.
Monthly Yo-Mosa @ Goodfriend
(It’s a thing now.)
The last Saturday of every month at 10 am – power yoga class and a free mimosa! Stay after for good friends, food and beer!
We have a team of teachers who are already spreading yoga to companies and organizations. There are numerous studies proving the benefits of yoga at work, including lower stress, less back pain, more camaraderie, and a reduction in absenteeism.
We have looked into this market and created competitive pricing with amazing teachers – please talk to your company and let us bring some serenity to your workspace – more information here.
Trey and I have been enjoying museums and art galleries together for 30 years and couldn’t be more excited about the “A” in YAM. Our Art Gallery will be inside the yoga studio allowing yoga students to enjoy beautiful local art while practicing. We will have one “Featured Artist” occupying one studio wall, and several “Highlighted Artists” on the opposite wall, all will be available for sale.
Our first Featured Artist is Tanner Lawley, who holds a dear place in our heart. We purchased one of our first pieces from Tanner’s studio on Valentines Day in 2016. And last year on Valentine’s Day, we were able to meet him in-person. During this meeting, he introduced us to the book “Power vs Force” which has been a very meaningful book for both of us.
To submit your artwork for consideration, please email 3 images of your work, including dimensions and medium to email@example.com.
We are getting ready to move our piano into our studio space! We plan on having regular music events such as live music yoga flow classes, and BYOB weekend concerts.
We will likely kick-off this part of our YAM vision once the Lakeridge redevelopment project is near completion (May/June).
