Friendly, mellow and encouraging.
A long, long time ago, in an era known as “the ’90s,” I was a young twenty-something with chronic anxiety and back pain. I decided I was too young to feel that way, so I started a yoga and meditation practice that changed my life. At the time, there were very few studios in Dallas, so I found my inspiration through videos with Bryan Kest, Rodney Yee, Seane Corn, and others.
In 2001, I teamed up with Jennifer and Kurt Johnsen to get certified and open a yoga studio. Whole Life Health Center (later American Power Yoga) was my home until 2008. Since then, I’ve continued to teach here and there and to learn from my peers and mentors along the way. I plan to make it a lifelong habit.
I love teaching students of all levels but especially enjoy helping beginners grow their practice. I also enjoy reading, writing, listening to podcasts, and vintage furniture shopping. And yes, I do want to see pictures of your pets.
